    Can anyone enlighten me to how the manufactured date code system for Samsung works? I’ve done a search but to no avail.

    eg RS21NCNS
    srl 854142BLA00106K.

    Customer says it’s 2 yrs 1 mth (purchase date anyway).

    Go on then, give us a clue? 0 01 06K…. How did you get the 01 part??
    Am I missing some thing obvious apart from my date with a pub lunch??

    You aint gotta chance..I have access to the samsung service website..no other way to work out production dates..

    Oh well, no wonder I couldn’t sus it, thought I was going mad.

    I’ll put the costumer Samsung way – heaters & fuse all check out ok, defrost sensor seems ok and black type evaporator cover old type and no C clip.

    If ITS AN RS21
    samsung will do a freebie reguardless of age.

    the only way customer wont get it done is, if samsung have no cover in her area.. if this is the case customer can pay and claim back from samsung..

    Hi Funky..

    Only upto its 5th birthday and only on selected parts.Which excludes : compressor,PCB’s,Water valves,Any freezer section Components,Ice maker ect.

    Comet are sending us repairs that are not covered and the customer is then billed full charge to claim back off Comet insurance.

    cheers ..yip were the same
    didnt think there would be many rs21 over 5..
    what we were told if customer has rs21 with fri problems sams will do watchdog freebie and then cover parts utill 5th birthday , think they will still do a freebie if f/f is over 5 , they just wont be able to offer the 5 year thingy due to age of f/f ??

    watchdog warranty only for fridge side
    fridge cover assy
    defo sensor
    t/fuse
    defo element
    water bottle
    used to be a nice little earner untill watcgdog..
    how did you manage to get comet to pass work
