Just wanted to thank the forum, moderators and the people that post. With the information on this site i took the plunge and decided to have a go at repairing my machine, £30 on parts spent.

My hat goes off to people that repair these things for a living, i had a bit of an epic but lots of fun learning how to strip the machine to change the bearings, and fault finding the dryer problem.

Ive changed bearings on motorbikes and it was a similar process, but getting to them was a git and most time consuming, i had to take the tub out to get to them. Hardest part of the repair was putting the tub seal back onto the tub 😮 . Took a whole day to do the job!

Now its running again – very quietly 🙂 (albeit the tub seal)

Will need to order a new wash heater element cos the seal has finally given up on the current one.

Now its all back together, the tub seal seems to make contact with the drum as a moves, and now sounds like a whales calling 😆 Think it needs a little adjusting

put some washin up liquid on a softdamp cloth and wipe the lip of the seal and put it on a boil wash, that helps
