This set of fault codes for some ranges of Smeg built-in induction hobs and and induction cooker models.
Sadly we do not have a note of the oven model numbers that these error codes relate to.
These error codes may not relate to ALL Smeg induction hobs or cookers but there is a good chance that they will represent a good number of products and they will all be based on Smeg electronics and components for the most part so should be fairly standard.

Smeg Oven Spare Parts
We have purposely not listed any Smeg spares in this article as there is a vast range of spares used by Smeg that can be model-specific as well as range specific.
For spares, if it isn’t glaringly obvious which one is required please contact us and ask and have the model and serial numbers from the rating plate of the oven or cooker.
Please, don’t guess or assume as spares can be altered on a production run with the same model number having several different alternative components used.
Smeg Oven Fault Codes
These fault codes are written for oven and cooker repairers and not for the general public by Smeg and they assume a certain level of competence on the part of the user in diagnostic routines. We have added some notes to try to assist you in determining the nature of the fault you have but, you will still need to investigate each failure on its own merits. U400 |
Overvoltage
This error is detected by the software when the signal at the voltage is detected as being 400V or more and will typically be seen on Smeg cookers with induction hobs or built in induction hobs.

Over heating induction zoneActivated if one of the induction zones detects over heating and this will typically be if there is an empty pot or such on the hob with it on |

Filter board error
Faulty filter board in induction hob/cooker models |

Supply voltage or power board problemThis error can relate to the incoming voltage supply not being correct, you will need to verify that the mains supply is within specification or, it can also induicate a faulty power board. Again, this error will relate to induction models. |

Internal connection error
That is all Smeg really says about this error code, it’s some sort of an internal connection error being reported but there’s no note of why or what it might relate to. |

Faulty temperature probe or zone
An error has been detected with the temperature probe or the induction zone. |
ER03 |
Continuous use of buttonsThe electronics have detected a button press for longer than ten seconds, often cause by water or spillage to touch controls etc causing a “false” button press detection.

Flash errorThere is very little info on this error other than Smeg saying that it is a “flash error” and a possible uC faulty. |
ER22 |
Control unit shutdown after 3.5-7.5 secondsThis error is detected if the electronics pick up a short circuit somewhere or the “key recognition is disconnected”, Smeg says. |
ER31 |
Incorrect configuration or faulty connection between boardsThis error is detected if there is a configuratrion error with the electronics or the main control board and controls input board is faulty for some reason.

ER47 |
Connection error between the induction and control/input boardThis error is detected if the electronics cannot detect a goo connection between the input board, of controls board, and the induction control unit. But it is worth noting that the filter board in some models can also give rise to this error code being displayed.
