My F & P Smart Drive 058 was blowing the house fuse when it is plugged into the wall!

I think I may have isolated what might be coursing this to happen, but some insight would be great.

I think it has something to do with a small charcoal tube/connector (Lid Switch) type thing that sits under the top for the machine. It is wired to the plug that is inserted to the mother board; the plug also has the out of balance switch wires in it.

The two wires that run form this plug (one black and one blue wire) run along the top (but hidden under the plastic top) of were the lid sits. When I first looked at the charcoal tube/connector (Lid Switch) it was wet and decayed.

I left it out over night and it dried out and when I turned the machine on it no longer blow the house fuse! And everything lights up as per normal on the control panel, but now the machine will not run! And it is not spitting out a fault code.

They thoughts on what is wrong and how to fix it????

    Model: MW058K

    Cheers,

Does the lid switch actually work?

Not sure, how do I find out?

Also if it is rooted, can’t I just bypass the switch and connect the two wires to complete the circuit ???

Yersssss……. If it works, replace the switch assembly pronto – it’s a safety device.

Yep it was the lid switch, I have bypassed the magnetic switch by clipping the wires and connecting them and then covering them with some heat shrink.

I do realise lid switch is a safety device but I’m cool with it this way 🙂 Will just have to remember not to put my hand in the machine when she’s running!

    Cheers for your help!

This is twice now you have saved me $$$ and I’m loving it!!!
