My fan assisted oven tripped the electrics when I switched it on. Restored the electric supply and only the fan was working, no heat.
On checking forums for advice I bought and fitted a new element. I now have heat but fan has stopped working!

    Any suggestions much appreciated.

Can you spin the fan blade by hand? If the new element is the wrong one or not located concentric to the fan it may be fouling the blade.

Fan still spins by hand. I’m sure element is correct one, bought off of website http://www.4.kenwood.co.uk.

Also checked that I didn’t disturb connections to fan when I fitted new element.

With power to the cooker off you could try connecting the wires that normally go to the element to the fan and briefly try switching on the oven to see if the fan works. If the fan does not work like that it will probably be the fan motor that has failed. If the fan does work like that it will probably be a faulty oven switch. Remember to put the wires back as they were after experimenting.

Re: Kenwood CKJ280 fan assisted oven problems.

    Update for reference.
Disconnected the power supply and removed connections to the new element, on re-connecting power supply and switching on oven the fan worked OK on it’s own without the element.
Disconnected the power supply again, restored connections to the element, re-connected power supply, switched on the oven and the fan and element both working fine!.
I’ve no idea why it suddenly stared working, only thing I can think is that on the element there is an earth connection and the other 2 connections each had 2 spades. I re-connected using the spades that were previously redundant.
