    Hi

The actual internal springs on the door mechanism have both broken over the last 6 months. I replaced one about 6 months ago with no issues and have recently had to replace the other.

The problem this time is that even though the washer is back and levels have been checked etc. when it washes there is a lot of steam and condensation coming out of the top on the side where the spring has been replaced, (the side where the on/off switch is) which is affecting the adjacent kitchen unit, the unit door attached to the dishwasher and the work top above.

I have checked the door seal and this seems fine. There are two tightening points for the metal lines holding the spring mechanism on the top edge of the dishwasher that can be tightened with an allen key. I did align and retighten these to where they were, before the dishwasher went back in. I have also tightened them bit by bit after every wash cycle to try and solve the problem but am worried that I will over tighten and one of the springs will snap. Also does tightening these solve this particular problem or am I ‘barking up the wrong tree’!

Can anyone give me any advice?

I always change both springs even if one goes,it makes sure there is less chance of dor not sealing well, best to replace both and start from scratch.
When fitted check that screws which secure cabinet to worktop are not fouling door when it closes..
