The EOC lamp comes on after the cycle has run for a short time.
The dryer has the drain hose fitted which is not blocked.
The pump operates in that I can hear it running and I can see water discharging from the outlet when the hose is detached albeit with no great force, in gentle spurts rather than spraying out.
When the dryer was working correctly, the discharge from the hose over the sink was a trickle with occasional small gushes.
The internal overflow on the pump reservoir is clear and the condenser is cleaned.
I read in another post of the awkwardness factor on this appliance.So any suggestion as to isolating the fault and a possible remedy would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like a blockage either in your pump, drain hose or the base of the machine not an easy job to clean out so i would double check your drain hose and pump first.

Done as you suggested and had the hose unclipped and away from the machine and it is clear. Have operated it with hose detached and same outcome.
The pump operates at the start of each cycle and water comes out but with no great energy but that may just be the style of the pump or a sign that it is partially blocked?.
Each program starts with a pump out cycle.
If I switch between programmes when the EOC light comes on I can drop the water level sufficiently for the float switch to allow the cycle to proceed until the level of condensate lifts the float up again.
On detaching the drain hose and tilting the machine back water flows freely from the hose outlet.
I guess it now starts to get tricky.
Can I ask what you would recommend next.

It’s very unlikely that any of us know, because Miele won’t tell us anything. You could try ringing them, but they won’t tell you anything either. They might be quite polite about it though, because they want you to book their engineer – it’s more than we get in the trade.
Ah well, buy something expensive and you have to pay for the service.
