I have now had to fix my dishwasher twice and must therefore have some sort of leak. As per other posts, my dishwasher has stopped near the end of the cycle and displays the F code on the readout. The first ime I read through posts on here and pulled unit out and tilted and drained excess water from unit then it worked fine again for about a month. Today, the same problem has occurred, which means I must have some sort of problem. Any ideas what is causing this over a period of time? Again today just stopped towards end of cycle with the drain pump running constantly.

If it keeps filling the base with water then you will, like as not have an internal leak. Some leaks are obvious, others are not, being a Bosch based machine makes access to the base very difficult indeed.

The leak, if there is one needs to be identified and repaired.

Oversoaping can also cause this fault, not as common on these as some other models, do you use multitabs or separate detergent/rinse aid/salt?

took it all apart and found the thing on the side where the water goes in and out all bunged up so cleaned and put back. Seems to have cured the leak problem, but now it runs through the cycle and doesn’t seem to clean very well. Have i put something back wrong or is this another problem. It seems as if theres not enough pressure through the jets and not cleaning as it should.

There is a pipe that runs from the bottom of the fill matrix around the front left hand side of the machine that often gets gunged up. This and all the other gunge is due to not rinsing the plates before loading them into the machine. Remember, it is a dishwasher, it is not a waste disposal unit.

You could try using a dishwasher cleaner to see if that will shift the build up of food residues.

Seems it was wishful thinking, just ran another full cycle and the dreaded leak has returned! Any ideas where i could start looking for this?

Several possibilities, main circulation pump seals, leaks from the various seals to the heater box, salt container etc, tiny pin holes in tub near the salt container amongst others. Leak finding on these machines is sometimes a real PITA. I once had one caused by a hairline crack in the heater box itself, access to most of the components under the tub requires a major strip down.

I had a look underneath at the water thats in the tray, and it appears to be cloudy, does this mean the leak is on the discharge side and if so this must narrow it down slighty?

Not really, the discharge side is the least likely source of a leak TBH.
