ParticipantI have an Integral Diplomat ADP8132 from MFI which has performed perfectly for the past 6 years. It has now developed a fault where it starts OK and makes all the right noises to begin with but then something goes wrong and the Element heats red so we have to switch it off as it produces a burning smell. I have taken all the internal bits out, float, filter etc and checked the pipes for blockages and cleaned the spray arms. I have removed it from under the unit and taken off the plate at the front bottom. I can see all the parts but cannot see how I can get at them to take the pump and other pipes apart to check. There are no error lights on the machine and all the programmes can be selected. If I can get at the parts I am sure I can at least find out what is wrong. Can anybody please tell me what they think the problem is and how I can get to the part that needs replaced?

If the element glows, it thinks it’s full of water. So, water across the base or not? Failing that, it can fill but not circulate.
Please advise.

Hi Penguin45,
I hadn’t checked the forum since posting the original thread so thanks for responding. I have replaced the drain pump as it was suggested that it might have burned out. This has made no difference.
It powers up. I can select any of the programmes and the machine seems to start. When it was working you could hear a few seconds after starting on a normal wash the water pouring in rapidly to the machine. Now you hear the machine power up and go into the cycle but no water flowing in. After 5 minutes or so the cycle stops and when the door is opened there is a small amount of water in the bottom but no water anywhere else.
If I put the machine on the hottest wash, the element heats and smells of burning I guess becasue there is no water covering it. On normal washes the element doesn’t heat as much and doesn’t smell of burning. I have checked the red element buttom and it seems OK.
Any further help would be appreciated.
