Hotpoint TDC62S Not Sensing “dryness” properly

Hi All

I changed the stats on this a while back and I think upset the float chamber (cos it always says the water needs emptying now) but also the sensor doesn’t work any more.
If you run it till it switches off automatically ( at this point clothes are still quite damp) and then put it on again till it switches off then clothes do get dry. I’m just wondering if its likely that the sensor has had it or whether its the control module or something else?

All help appreciated, I’m getting annoyed by my missus puttign the thing on twice for every load!
