ParticipantHi chaps
i wonder if anyone can help me?i have a hotpoint 8596p with a cold freezer , and a warm fridge
here is some futher info1. fridge temp = +22c – freezer -18c
2. door seal ok
3. all dust removed from bottom,
4. fan on rear nr compressor running constantely nice and clean
5. door switch ok, and tried bypassed
6. temp sensor with green plug reads 3.1k ohm out of circuit
7. temp sensor yellow plug reads 3.1k ohm out of circuit
both decrease in ohms , when heated or warmed. i presume is is an indication of working ok ..?8. fan in bottom f/f comes on for about 10-seconds then stopswhen the motor come on however if disconnected and powered directly from 240v it run ok
9. all connection in freezer behind panel removed, sandpapered, and switch cleaner and replaced.
10. motorised flap in fridge top left rear of bulb housing , working
11. compressor seems to power up and feels like its turning, gets warm
12. had been defrosted for 48-hours
13. no kinks in capillary tubes .
14 was working fine one day the next it wasent .- no warning.
15. definetely 240v ac on fan connection ..
16. bulb removed.
17. vents and drain holes cleared
18. fridge level
19. found and fixed 3 dry joints on top PCB ..
20 set temp on display and used buttons to store ..does anyone have any ideas what else i can check ???
someone mentioned this model has 3 temp sensors ..
1 on the evaporator cable tied to it .. yellow plug
the 2nd being longer wire passed through plastic , and located near the fan , green plugand some one mentioned , one near the bulb ???? is this true or not
anyway any ideas would be most welcome its driving me mad ..
Thanks

Hi
Change both the green & yellow plug sensors.Even though they show resistance they sometimes speak with fork tongue. If that still doesnt work which 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time it does the main board.
Also bear in mind the evaperator sensor only cuts in when it reaches -5oc.Bryan

Hi there
yes i know what you mean,
however another googley has jumped into the equastion now
under the lamp fitting in the fridge is another temp sensor
its on a thick green flex, and vanishes into the body of the fridge
above the light fitting. ** currently i dont know wher eit leads to
but i suspect it may go to the circut board ..**so i need to somehow test this ..
it says on it .. F2 123oC OFT -F-i presume 123c is the temp , not sure of the other marking ..
anyway next time i go there i will try my best to test it
i have a resistor decade box, and thought i could substitue it
so the electronics see a resistance so i dont get the E error codes
cos it thinks it at the right temp ..obviously if it then works , then i’ll get the proper thing
anyway for now thanks …
