Just before the weekend, we were alerted to a large recall of various branded heat pump tumble dryers being recalled due to a fire risk, and owners are advised to stop using them immediately. This affects models from Candy, Caple, Haier, Hoover, Iberna, Lamona and Montpellier.
The brands that are affected include the following, with links to articles that have instructions on what you need to do, but please, if you do own an affected model, follow the advice and stop using it for the time being for your own safety.
We do not know the cause or the severity beyond what’s been stated, in that it’s a potential wiring problem that could lead to a fire risk, but the fact that the advice is to cease use suggests that it is a serious and potentially dangerous issue.
