My daughter’s Servis M3008W has suddenly stopped taking in water at the beginning of a program. She has tried different cycles and the m/c goes through the motions each time. It will even pump out water if she puts some in and selects spin; it just doesn’t take in water when it should. If she disconnects the water supply pipes from the machine, she gets water through them so it could be that at least one input valve mechanisms has failed, but I would be surprised if they had both gone kaput. My daughter is in Dorset and I am in Lincolnshire, so I can’t get my hands on the machine. Anyone got any suggestions, please?

Does it spin if it empties? If the pressure switch has failed in the “full” position, the machine will already think it’s full, so won’t fill. This usually blows the heater BTW. Possible that the air bell feeding the preesure switch is full of sludge, thus failing to depressurise and holdin the switch in the full position.

If it does spin when empty, the pressure switch is working and the problem almost certainly will lie with the pcb.

As a responsible parent at this point, you should buy said daughter a decent quality machine…….

I’m not sure; it emptied ok when she put some water in but I dont think she let it it go on to spin. I will check this when I can next talk to my daughter. Thanks for the advice.
