I have already had the refrigerator thermistor replaced twice as the fridge temperature sometimes went up to 20+ before recovering (freezer OK). This was done by a local engineer, but the total price each time (about 4 years apart) was over £80 (part costs only £20) It has happened again and as the FF is now 12 years old I cannot justify the callout charge so I want to do it myself. I am happy about gaining access to the area, and watched the engineer last time (about 4 years ago). I have bought a refrigerator thermistor from Hotpoint but the one sent has a white plug and appears not to be the one replaced last time for the same fault. I want to access the relevant page of the servicing manual to ensure that I identify the right cabling and do the job properly. The user manual, of course, does not cover such repairs. Where can I get hold of a Service manual, or even the relevant page showing the 3 thermistors (in back of the frezer compartment) and their cable routing?

The white plug part is 2600284 if that’s what you ordered,I think that the rast plugs used are not intechangeable so you can only fit it in one socket and not the others.
It may be that the engineer changed one of the others.

Many thanks for your info. The part that I have is indeed numbered 2600284. The existing thermister (that enters the freezer compartment through a small hole in the back wall and clips horizontally on the bcak wall) comes from the green plug. Which thermister is this one? The other thermister (attached by a cable tie behind the freezer back wall) is of similar appearance but is much shorter, comes from the yellow plug. Which thermister is this one? It is very much shorter than the one that I have, so appears to me not to be the fridge thermister. The final plug (of 3), the white one, is connected to 2 wires (one brown & one blue) each of which go to one of two identical looking square blocks mounted side by side (below the coloured plugs) on a plate mounted on the radiator. One block is fed by 2 blue leads and the other by 2 brown leads (not sure what these are). I have a photo of the inside back wall showing all of this, but am not sure how to insert it here!

I have since read in another forum that the symptoms that I am experiencing may require both thermisters to be changed. Is this so?

Thank you for your help in sorting this.
