ParticipantPlease could someone help!
Our Ariston A1635 has stopped working. Last week it wouldnt start the program. Checked the filter and found some bits in there. It then worked fine. It finished the program and the program selector kept going around. Anyway turned it off and back on and worked ok on the next wash. Went to use it today and it won’t start!
When you select the program the light for the door comes on, you hear a click and nothing happens. I have checked the water supply and thats fine and the filter again.
Has anyone any ideas what it could be ?
Thanks

Yes its an Indesit. :rolls:
When the timer clicks round the mains light should flash a set number of times then pause and repeat. The number of flashes is an error code.
If it will not start at all then the motor brushes would be the first thing to check.
Stay safe and remove the mains plug if you intend to have a look.

Ok thanks for the reply, will check for the brushes.
Will try and get the error code if I can get it to work again!
Cheers

Checked the brushes today and they seem ok but will still replace them.
Turned the machine back on and its filled with water and stopped! Would you say this could still be the brushes ?
Its not given any error lights it just started to
fill then stopped.Cheers

Apart from loose contacts the only other thing you could test is the heating element if you have a meggar or multimeter.
As it is an Indesit it does suffer from having possibly the worst electronics on the market ATM, they are very prone to failure but in most instances you should get some form of error message.
