Our trusty Creda Solarplus cooker is finally falling to pieces after 15 years of abuse, but we cant find a replacement with a similar (decent) spec:-
Halogen Hob (3 Halogen + 1 fast ceramic)
FAST “solar” fully controlled grill (ie Fully variable whole or half on)
Fan Main Oven with ‘catalytic’ liners
Conventional top (small) oven
Ive looked realy hard – and can’t find anything even remotely close to this specification – nobody seems to make a decent stand alone cooker. The nearest is the Cannon Kendal, but it has no Halogen Rings.
Is it possible to retrofit these (I know it will be expensive, but probably worth fitting 2). The similar Hotpoint model has 1 halogen ring, but unfortunately does not have the ‘solar’ grill and there does’nt look like any way of changing this as the mountings are different.
Thanks

Hi Sorry but I thought the easiest way to reply was to break your post into smaller chunks 😉

This very subject came up on here a while ago and the same conclusion was reached. Cannon apart the Zanussi range may come close or the Stoves 61EHDO which does have a single halogen zone.

Even if you could retrofit, the cost implication would be horrendous, the manufacturers guarantee would be null and void. The worst case scenario would be if a fire occured as a result of the “mod” your insurers would bound to walk away from any potential claim. The Cannon Kendal is a good cooker, we bought one for our daughters house warming pressie. We trawled every shop in the area so she could see what was out there and how the build compared along with how flexible the ovens were and of course how it looked.

You could consider a cooker with induction hob:
