    Re: replacing salt

Yes it is that simple, make sure it’s granular salt(not table salt)pour it in until it displaces all the water thats in there and you can touch it with your finger, lid back on and put it on a cold rinse or short wash.
Results won’t improve instantly it will need to go through a time or two before the salt doesit’s work.
    Also:
Check filters in sump(take out and clean)make sure spray arm jets are not blocked with food sediment.
Your machine should have had the softener set on installation to suit the hardness of your water, normally you can top up between 3 weeks and 6 weeks depending how it’s set.
All the relevant info would be in the user manual, downloasds are available from manufatures if it’s lost
Personally I don’t rate the three in one tablets for good results either.

‘filled it with salt now green light flashing’

I have deleted your other post, please try and keep it to one thread. It causes confusion when you post several threads on the same problem/appliance. 😉

Is the light flashing a set number of times and then pausing before repeating the sequence again, if so you need to count the number of flashes and report back.
    Jim.

    EDIT.

philly-d now reports that the machine is flashing 11 times.

    Re: replacing salt ADP4400

11 flashes is supposed to indicate an OWI error or optical water indicator error.

Not to sure if your machine has one, the error code can flash even if it doesn’t have an OWI fitted, it can also signify an expensive module failure.

Hopefully one of the Whirlpool experts can answer you in more detail.

    Jim.
