    Hi folks,

    hope you can help.

got an F05 error on the WD640. I’ve looked on the web and tried most of the advice with the following results :

Removed the pump – full of soft bits and lime scale – cleaned this out
the pump blades were moving freely
The pipe from the pump to the waste was clear
Removed the black hose from the drum to the pump.
The filter was full of coins, bits of plastic and fluff – cleaned and replaced

The machine seems to work better (damn well should) but the dirty water still doesn’t completely pump out (washing feels full of soap) and at the end still get f05.

when I put it on spin it seems to empty out, but not when its left to itself to pump out…. ??

The pump seems to work but i’ve no idea if its working properly. Yep, I could try to replace the pump but I don’t really want to start replacing stuff in the hope I hit on the right bit.

    so I’m lost….

I’ve seen talk of a pressure switch problem – what is this, where is it and how can I test it ?

and anything else that might be at fault ?

It’s driving me nuts and I really can’t afford another macchine or get someone round.

Thanks so much for your time and help

f05 is the pressure switch stuck in the full position

    f10 is afaulty pressure switch

the machine not emptying correctly is your problem

is the waste pipe in a stand pipe? or is it on a spiggot under the sink ( if it is, u need to just check its exit is clear)

does the pump grind, or is it unnessecarily noisy when it empties?

washer dryer pumps are notorious for going faulty , they do run an excessive amount of time

have you tried putting the hose into a bucket, switchin the machine to spin, and seeing how fast the water comes out?

its got to be an obsstruction, or a faulty pump…

althought if it was faulty, it would give you an f11 fault ( theoretically)
