Ok, I have had a go at this problem, but am now stumped. Its time to draw on those far more knowledgeable than me.

Last week the machine stopped spinning. Water levels, pumping and agitation cycles were fine. I had a look gave it a clean, turned it it on its side, checked the wire harness and put it back together. The problem went away……until yesterday.

Ok, I got onto this forum, did some research, and found a number of very similar (but not the same) faults for similar models (error code 131), all pointing to the sensor in the motor. So I dropped this out, confirmed it had some corrosion, gave it it clean, and put it back in. Woll-a., the machine started running the spin cycle, and when it it got to the high speed spin, I packed up and walked away….later I found it in error, as before (130)!

Ok, I give up…does anyway have a clue what this little lady is trying to tell me??

    Thanks in advance.

It’s the Rortor Position Sensor (RPS) error. Usual problem is wiring – wet, corroded; bent tags in the terminals or damage to the RPS itself. In extreme cases it can be the motor controller board.

Thanks for that. My wife tells me me it worked fine today, but will keep an eye on it for now. If it plays up, I will replace the RPS. Thanks for the info.

    Hi, I’m back.

Well I am now getting to the point of retiring this machine and moving onto an new brand….but thought I’d give one last crack!

I have bought a new controller, given the problems below are still persisting and have concluded it was the controller (tapping the controller removes the fault for awhile).

However F&P instructions have a “gotcha” line. When the new controller was installed I turned it on to ensure it “lights up”, which it did. The instructions first tell you to “turn off the power” if the controller has lights on. So I push the power button to turn off the power. What F&P actual meant was “disconnect the power from the wall” The result is I now have an illegally configured controller….and no instruction on how to restore factor defaults!!

The supplier says if you are not a “registered repair agent” warrant is null and void..!!!!

As a tech myself, I refuse to believe factor defaults cannot be reset on the the controller. So my question is…how can you set factor defaults??

    Thanks in advance

    Hi

Had an error 130 on my f&p gw712 and after searching for the info on this forum, I leaned the washer on to one side and had a look at the rps. After removing it I found it was very corroded on the terminals of the small connector board as mentioned here on this site. Wasn’t surprised as i live in the Daintree where it can rain a little bit at times. Anyway cleaned and scratched it up, bit of wd40 and away we went. Ordered a new rps from au ebay. The whole process is relatively easy and all the diagnostic info that you need is on here starting with your error code. I want to give a big thanks to the penguin and others for the info provided. Keep up the good work.

    Thanks

    Dave
