    Hi All,

I have been to a Bosch Exxcell 1200 WF0464GB/01 today, First of there was no drum movement so changed the brushes – all fine other then when put on a spin cycle it starts at 11 mins, spins fine down to 4 then cuts straight to 1 min and stops. The cust said she had previously noticed once that when spinning on a normal wash when spinning at the end it when from 7 mins back up to 8 then carried on and finished off fine.
I have tried a new motor but that changed nothing. I have tried it full of clothes and empty – does exactly the same thing.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Ollie.

I think you’ve missed a digit out of the model no? Probably a WFO2464GB/01? Never mind though…..no big deal……

Have you checked the heater I wonder? An earth leak on the heater can cause this fault or even open circuit…worth a punt! 😉

    Re: Bosch W/M WF0464GB/01 – Spin Prob

Spoke to cust today and the machine is still misbehaving but only when it is put on the spin prog, When any other programme is selected the m/c runs through the whole lot absolutely fine, right the way down throught the timer – perfect, But when put on a spin prog on its own the spin prog will start at 11 mins, work fine down to 4 mins then cut straight down to 1 and stop. I’ve checked the heater etc the motor connections, the ins res is fine. I’ve checked it with various loads in it. All same Outcome. I’m baffled. I’m thinkin it must be board related surely??!!??
    Any idea’s?

On some models the ‘spin only’ cycle only spins to a max of 1000 rpm then switches off anyway…….Just confirm that model number for us to check though. 😉

Is this not the pattern brushes problem?

Be bugged no longer for I have the answer……………… 😀

I thought as much, in that if you set the machine for either ‘rinse & spin’ or ‘spin’ only cycles the machine only will spin at 800 rpm then skip the 1000 and 1200 phases and stop.

See page 20 of the users instruction booklet and you can point your customer to that page also (if she’s kept her copy that is? :rolls: )

Now you can sleep at night…. 8)

    No worries Ollie!

It catches many guys out this one because as a rule when you change brushes you test your work using spin only. And many Bosch machines don’t do a full spin programme. The reason being is that Bosch (a.k.a Siemens/Neff) regard the spin only function as being required just for hand washed garments. And ‘hand wash only’ should only be spun at a very short and low spin speed….hence your observation with this machine. 😉
