No cold water in when set on wash cycle although fills cold water on woolens, traced fault to positive feed from facia pcb. will this mean new board or does anyone know if it can be repaired.

    Cheers John.

Probably the triac has blown that feeds that valve.
If you can trace it back from the valve to the faulty triac ,Im sure you can just solder a new one in 😀

Greg, have a very limited knowledge of electronics, I have traced back to a small unit with 3 legs one side and a wider single leg the other is this a triac.

That sounds like a surface mounted triac. Rather fiddly soldering job if you’ve got to do that.
💡 Maybe EMW would have a dekko at it for you if you gave them a ring. I’m sure they did a Bosch board for me about 3 years ago.
I’ve not had many problems with Bosch washing machine boards but several water valve problems. I’d swap the coil just to make sure. Even the ones with the mini pcb can be unplugged from that IIRC.

Mike, yes its a surface mounted triac as you say, it looks difficult to do,will ask Tony at emw.

Also, if the triac is blown, it might be better to replace the valve anyway, in case that’s what blew it. I’ve got away with using a cheap Hotpoint double valve a few times by remaking connections and drilling a new fixing hole or two for the screw(s).

Mike, I will do that if the board is repaired, thanks for the advice.
