LG Wavedom microwave failed

    Our LG Wavedom microwave – a big combi unit – when phut this morning when warming a cup of milk. It’s compleley dead – I’ve checked the plug fuse. This is a costly item only about two years old – any ideas what is a likely cause? Is there an internal fuse and is there a common component that fails?

    There are seveal common causes of this problem.
    However THERE ARE NO USER REPLACEABLE PARTS WITHIN A MICROWAVE REPAIR REQUIRES SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE.

    Please do not attempt to open the case: MICROWAVES CAN KILL EVEN WHEN SWITCHED OFF. 😯

    OK – think I get the message. The next question is: is this piece of kit worth sending for repair (assuming there are any repairers) or is it more cost effective to buy another.

    Hi: Sorry to shout but having seen the results of someone attempting a DIY Microwave repair it makes me shudder.
    Depends on replacement cost of a compatible replacement, 2 of the things most likely to cause this should be reasonably cheap to repair. The others are unfortunately more expensive, have you tried the link on the bottom of the page to find an Engineer? Unfortunately there are not that many that will take on Microwave repairs nowadays (Only crazy people like me) 😆
