Hi, I’m new to the site.

A few days ago our Bosch dishwasher (SGS43A52) blew it’s 13A plug fuse. Upon opening the dishwasher it had a small amount of water in the bottom. I replaced the fuse, turned the dishwasher on and it tried to continue it’s ECO program from before the fuse went, so I pushed the two buttons simultaneously to reset it, the END light then came on and it pumped out the water. It then worked fine for 2 or 3 cycles (I don’t know how many exactly but it was more than one).

However yesterday it blew it’s fuse again, leaving water in the bottom again, so today I replaced it again, thinking obviously there must be an underlying reason to this. Anyway upon switching the dishwasher on it again tried to continue ECO program again, so I pushed both buttons again and the End light lit up. It started to pump out the water. I went into the other room at this point to grab the instruction manual, I came back and it had stopped whirring/pumping, and the ‘Eco’ and ‘End’ lights were on. I opened it up and all the water was still there!

I then followed the instructions in the manual for removing the impeller cover and when I did found a length of green plastic string tangled in the impeller. I removed this and replaced the cover.

Since this point the dishwasher has been unable to do anything. Both the Eco and End lights stay on, switching on/off makes no difference, tried switching off at the wall and leaving for 1/2 hour and it’s still the same.

Anyone have any ideas? Or know if there is a hard reset that can be performed at all? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Re: Bosch SGS43A52 Problem

Educated guess here – heater is possible culprit, assuming that the machine had got well into its programme before the fuse popped. You say that there was ” a small amount of water” in the base. Normal water level should cover the base and be partially up the salt cap. As the machine is now not responding, we can assume that the pcb is now blown as well.

Check you purchase dates, this appliance has a two year warranty.
