ParticipantHi all, the girlfriends younger brother is starting work for me from next week and he knows nothing about appliances, though i will be teaching him as we go along i was wondering if there is any material (preferable to download) that i can get for him to read, things like how a washing machine works etc and theoretical wiring diagrams for heater etc any help would be great as all my tech stuff assume you know what you’re doing.

Thanks Iadom, I did have a look on their website already, but as they only do that and a tumble dryer manual i’m a bit hesitant as ideally i would want him to have just the one book that would cover everything (less likelihood of him forgetting to bring it to work) but that wouldn’t matter if i could find something that’s laptop based.

Hi David: I spent a lot of time looking for this sort of info on the web, the only places I could find were American so it’s not really that good to us.
If you give Graham Dixon a bell, he might know of something all his details are on the forum.

Andy, if you’re still looking then i found this book online called “Troubleshooting and Repairing Major Appliances” By Eric Kleinert which you might find interesting, not sure if it’s American or English and depending on where you look it’s also available as a download.

Hi David: Thanks for that, it’s not one that i’ve come across. Do you have a web site address?
I have just been through the attic & comme across my binder from when I did my city & guilds, that covers: Principles, Cookers, Washing machines / Dishwashers, Driers & Refridgeration basics.
Will have a look at scanning this into the Laptop & dropping to disc, if it works o.k your wllcome to a copy of it.
