    Hi All,

    I am unable to select a program for this machine and get it to start. It will power up correctly and I can adjust the count down timer. There is no response from the PR button at all. None of the program LEDs will turn on. The only other symptom is the top part of both seven segment displays is a little less bright than the others. No error codes are shown from what I can see.

    I have removed the front cover and can see no obvious damage to the control board. The machine is just over 2 years old running 2-3 cycles a week.

    Any suggestions to a solution would be appreciated.

    Oh dear, another Chinese one; shockingly bad. Check that the tray under the machine is not full of water – the float cut-off switch will stop anything working. If there’s water, drain it off and leave the machine for a couple of days to dry out. You never know, it might start working again. If the tray is dry, try holding down the programme button and then switching on. It may re-set.

    For God’s sake, don’t spend any real money on it. If the pcb has failed, now is the time to buy something decent. As a professional repairer, I would refuse this particular job – you would expect a guarantee on the work and I have no confidence in the product. If you really want to fix it, I can only suggest that you contact Candy.

    Power off if you intend to have a peek.

    Thanks for the quick reply Penguin45.

    I have tried what you have suggested but the machine is still showing no signs of running a program. I will remove the PCB where the program button is and check it hasn’t worn out.

    Candy were unable to give me any advice over the phone and the cost of the call out is almost as much as another cheapo machine. It does feel like an awful waste having to bin it so soon.

    I would like to invest in a quality machine such as a Bosch but I plan to move within the year and would invest in the good one for the new place.

    I had to leave the flat for a several weeks so I drained it and left it open as you said. As we speak it is running!!

    It would appear the cause of the fault is a little steam escaping from the seal, condensing on the work surface and water dripping into the control module.
