ParticipantHave had major delivery problems almost without exception when receiving any ISE machines, the first batch of machines was let down twice and eventually John H had to deliver it personally in his car!
The transport company Hi Way seem incredibly unreliable with regard to even the day the machines arrive, and sorry to say even when calling you guys up its unclear.
I know its a totally different setup but during my years at Comet the delivery drivers used to call customers in the mornig with an ETA and again when on there way to the jobs an hour before. I think alot can be learnt from this, Comet eventually caught up and learnt that transport does reflect on the entire company.
Does this same company deliver to the general public or just trade?.
Has anyone else had similar problems?
Flexibility is not a problem, I dont mind if they turn up in an artic at 5.30am in the moring as they have before as long as I know before.Dont want to have too much of a moan but I am seriously considering the viability of continuing to promote the machines only to let customers down later when they dont arrive as promised.

ParticipantRe: Delivery problems
I have found just the opposite in my area Alistair, the highway driver always phones me to say he is on his way and deliveries are always as promised.
Must be lucky with the drivers in my area.April 9, 2009 at 11:17 pm #282867kwatt

It’s trade deliveries and HiWay expect access from at least 9-5 and will give a 48 hour delivery window I’m afraid. They can be a bit officious and, TBH, a pain at times because of that but they are generally very good at scheduled deliveries. Let me put it this way, they fail in less than 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of all deliveries to hit schedule, we know this.
Where they fall over is when you try to go outside the normal trade delivery days into particular postcodes. They try, don’t get me wrong, but they aren’t exactly the most flexible.
Having said that, there’s few delivery companies that are flexible. We have the same thing in a different way with home delivery, they have day’s that they do stuff and days that they just don’t. If the wagon is full enough or they run late they trip onto the next day as they have to stop, legally, due to the tacho.
Home delivery can be faster and, in some respects, more flexible but, as stated in an earlier post tonight, it costs about £40 a box more.
You pays your money…

ParticipantHi Alister,
Sorry I am late getting back to you on this, I’ve been off.
I am sorry you are frustrated with Hi-way’s deliveries to you. They are a huge logistics company and operate a nationwide delivery schedual going to each UK postcode on a weekly basis with a two day delivery window, this does not make them very flexible.
This means the driver loads up with a full load leaves first thing on the morning of day one and returns close of play on day two. The delivery slot is then dependant the route he is taking and he is also at the mercy of the UK road network (which in your neck the woods is tough going particularly when coming from the north).
While I can raise specific issues with them (please e-mail them to me) they will always point at their 97{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} intact and on time performance (better than their 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} SLA). That said when things do go wrong we will always break our backs to get machines to you even if than means me.
Regards
John
PS They don’t do our deliveries to the public, we use a specialist company but charge the customer an extra £50 for two man drops in 48 hrs with pre-booked time slots (this is not economic for normal trade deliveies)

Should have received an ISE10 washing machine today / yesterday.
No show unfortunatley.
Got a pretty miffed customer so was wondering if somebody could chase it up for me?
p.s. (a minor thing)
I also have a customer who wants to see one in real life, I asked David if he knew of a showroom in Beds or Herts, he hasn’t let me know.
Thanks, Tim.

On a different delivery tack, two AW23’s delivered to Star Supplies have cabinet damage, only found after packing removed. 😥

Apparently, no-one can find the order. 😕
I’ve asked David to give you a ring to find out what the score is.

ParticipantRe: Delivery problems
After the lost order I now have a no show on the delivery.
I checked with David at 4pm today and he said they can be as late as 5pm.
Is there anyway of getting hold of the delivery company this evening?
I really don’t want to have to make anymore excuses to the customer.

I’ve been out Tim and only just read this!
David rarely reads the forums so he probably hasn’t seen it at all.
Now, there’s not a hope but I think they shut up shop at 5pm in the office but the drivers do work on a bit. It also depends whether it’s on home or business, I can’t check that remotely.

Unreal. They could have at least called ahead to make sure someone would be there!
