ParticipantHave a LG WM10260T washing machine and have put in new bearings and seal as the small one was very gritty and water ingress had started around the shaft. UK Whitegoods provided new ones, no problem quick service.
Cleaned out everything in the inner drum and run up for two hours at 95 degrease centigrade with a couple of lab coats inside. Sweet as a nut so I thought.
Customer has phoned me up saying that the same horrible noise is coming from the drum when she has loaded it up with towels?
Had checked the clearance between immersion heater and the metal protector plate which looked ok to me on the outer drum. Can only think it is the inner drum spider that comes as a complete assembly is loose enough so that when a heavy weight is put inside the washing machine it is hitting the bottom of the heater guide plate. Customer will not want to pay for a complete inner drum assembly?
Any LG experts out there who could throw some light on the matter and help me sort this one out before I go along on Tuesday morning to see head teacher.

Did take out the water pump to clear a lot of grey sludge that had built up around the output and the impeller rotated ok.
Had also run the washing machine for two hour hot washes in my workshop with some light cotton clothing and there was not a squeak.Had the pump pushing out water with the pipe over one metre from the ground, no problem.
Will have to have a close listen to see if it is metallic or plastic with a full load on board.Chris

I had one the other day making noises on heavier loads and that turned out to be the drive belt slipping on the drum pulley.

Participantive had that too.. it stretches just enough to twang as it rotates

Back, helo_75
The LG washing machine that I had put new bearings in has no circulation pump. Only the standard drain pump nothing else.
Had put in a full load of towels to listen to what goes on.
Drum running ok then after 10 minutes this very loud metallic clicking started. Took belt off and rotated drum by hand with the full load on board nothing clicking or bashing up against metal?Motor bearings smooth and nothing gritty plus brushes ok with loads of meat left on them. Put back belt onto the pulley and the noise has gone away for the first wash. Sure it will come back but still have not solved the problem.
The sound is like a ball race cage smashed up and very loud metallic clicking which seemed to transfer to the outer drum. All I had done was to rotate the motor a few times to check on its bearings.

Worth checking the metal drum pulley for a crack somewhere.

Hi spimps
Really scrathing my head on this one.
Yes will have a closer look at the pressed steel pulley.
The customer has got through one wash with no noise coming from the back today.

I have had this before when the bearing kits have fitted but aren’t the exact right size. It took me 5 extra visits before I re-stripped the machine down and found the depth of the outer bearing to be different than the original.
