ParticipantAs my early 1980s Miele is probably uneconomical to repair, I have been offered a Bosch SGS55C02GB dishwasher to replace it. The question is, are they any good? I have had good experience with Bosch products so far but what is the trade point of view with this model?
Many thanks!

Patience…it is a bank holiday after all. 😉
Bosch dishwashers are generally quite sound, not a Miele by any means but possibly the next best thing. 🙂

Thanks Jim: I had wondered whether I had asked an idiotic question…
Basically, the Miele will cost at least £60 in parts to repair, assuming I have made a correct diagnosis. Getting a Miele engineer out is just not cost effective, sadly. It is a pity, considering the machine had a brand new Miele pump fitted around 2 years ago.
I am also a bit tired of Miele’s attitude to retaining info and spare parts availability. I wonder if it is breaking any European Block Exception legislation…
Anyway, I have been offered the Bosch for £75 but, even if it breaks down, at least engineers have experience of the model and can get hold of the parts!

As good as anything around without paying “Miele money”.
Question is do you pay £1000ish for a miele or £250ish for a cheapo or in between somewhere,it’s difficult to be sure of the advice you give in this age of cheaply built appliances.
Manufactures don’t build much at all of the parts they assemble, pumps, valves, pcb’s are all bought in to their spec, put together and and given the manufacture’s name .
Only time will tell how good it is 😉
Wondered what’s the fault with your current Miele?

I will try and get a pic if the machine up here soon. Basically, it will be free to a good home!
Anyone interested?
