My Bosch WFF2001 has stopped spinning. The cycle goes OK, water fills, heats, drum turns and pump works until it reaches the spin stage, then it just sits there and clicks for a while until it eventually pumps itself out and the cycle ends. No flashing lights at any stage and we haven’t selected “rinse hold”.
    Can anyone help?

You mentioned in your other thread that this machine was 10 years old I believe? In which case the fault is likely to just be worn out motor (carbon) brushes. 😉

You say it washes and rinses? Have you tried starting another wash to see if the drum still turns? If it doesn’t = new brushes required.

Thanks, I tried a short program and the drum turned, but only one way during the wash phase. (I think it normally goes round one way for a bit and then reverses – unless I’m dreaming this ..). It wouldn’t kick in to a full spin, just clicked away then pumped itself out and ended.

I changed the motor brushes and used a stick on the armature about a year ago. Maybe I just need to do the same again.

But I kind of feel its at an age where the pump will be next or something else, and as I work away a lot I don’t want to leave the family “stranded” so I guess it’s probably time for new.

Well if the drum still turns and yet won’t spin likely as not the pressure chamber is bunged up and also the heater needs checking with a meter. 😉
