Hi all, I wonder if you can help me.

My washing machine (Bosch WFB2004) started making a very loud noise when on spin at the end of the washing cycle. I managed to alleviate this by using the spin reduction (1000-600) button but still got some noise. Also, the temperature control seems to have gone kaput – a 40 degree wash ended up at a very high temperature.

To recap – very loud noise on spin and no alternative to a boil wash.

I know it’s an old machine but is there anyway to repair it ?

    Thanks for any advice.

The 2 problems may be connected i.e something caught around the heater element having damaged it. Which would be the first thing i’d check.
To check the heater element you need to be able to check it with a good preferably digital multimeter, disconnect the wiring from both terminals & check from Each 1 to earth. Both readings should be open circuit.

If you don’t feel confident doing this, please see the repairs@ link for an Engineer in you area.

PLEASE REMEMBER POWER OFF & PLUG OUT BEFORE OPENING THE MACHINE.

    Thanks for the quick response.

I’ll get my husband to check out the heater element.

Hi: No problem, forgot to mention in my reply it’s preferable to have a Multimeter with a minimum resistance range of 40 Megohms.
Please let us know what happens.
