Cue one very plummy scottish lady with one of those swishy shoulder to toe cape affairs you usually see Lairds wearing coming across all ‘I’m on to you before you start’ by looking on the internet for any/ all parts prices on her Hotpoo SDW60. She was at first complaining of a burning smell and tripping the electrics. Being in the van when I took the call and not having all the prices on hand I quoted her somewhere in the region of £100 total if it was the element. ‘Well I know that the element costs £49.99’ 😯
Fine, but when I found the price of the element to me 🙂 and I can still come down a tenner on the total price and be in her good boocks I’m a happy bunny.
Note to myself not to mention prices next time I get a tradesman in. :rotfl:TC

It can be dodgy though, giving prices off the top of your head. I quoted someone for a WMA Hotpoint bearing job today, assuming it would be the normal 1604473 kit. Of course, the last WMAs had the smaller and more expensive 1604600 kit and this machine turned out to be one of them. It looks like the price difference in the kits is not so great though now, 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} as opposed to 150{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} at one time. At least the smaller bearings are easier to remove so there will be a saving in time.
