    does any one know what the windings should measure on a 3 phase motor out of a whirlpool washing machine

    Hi if you test between phases the resistance for example 1and 2 shoud be the same as 2 and 3 and 1 and 3 get the pattern.

    have done that and they all measure 4 ohm

    What was the problem with it ?

    Sometimes contactor/relays give problems (contacts burnt) so only supplys 2 phases then motor will only hum & not turn.

    sometimes turns. then others it really struggles like windings are binding up you can even hold the motor shaft to stop it from turning. i think its the control unit but werent sure if them readings from motor were correct
