Hi. I hope someone can help us with our problem. ❓
I read through the forum, to have an idea first, as stated in the subject, it is error code 11 – pump/draining error.
Maybe, it is better to start from the beginning. Last week was busy so I had to start the machine at night on program 3 and 40 degrees and go to bed. When I woke up in the morning, these lights were flashing. When I took my clothes out, they were soaking wet and the water dripping looked dark. (i was washing dark-colored clothes) and I wasn’t able to turn the machine off. :hmm:
Since I had to leave, I cut the power from the main source and I was away for a week. When I came back and turned on the machine, these lights were still flashing and even the drum was not turning, there was a noise like motor was trying to run until unplugged.
We checked the filter at the front and the hose behind, couldn’t find anything. Just some water came out of the filter. Only in the thick hose between the drum and the pump, on the drum side, there is a relatively large section, in which there is something hard and round, like a plastic ball. Is it normal?
Now, when we start it it does not flash at the beginning. We try to start it from the spin program and it starts to run, the drum turns but only for a minute or so. Then these flashes and the weird noise is back. We think the noise is from the pump.
Too much talk… 😳 But I feel really helpless after reading all bad reviews about indesit. We didn’t buy the machine, it is a part of the flat we rented. And we really don’t want to spend too much on it.
Any advice would be appreciated.

The ball is normal…thats there to supposedly stop things from inside your pockets and odd socks etc from getting through into ur pump… by what u are saying im pretty certain but not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} u have something still inside the pump area that is stopping the impeller from getting the water out in time for it to spin… its also possible the impeller is broken… u need to take off the pump and check it if there is nothing to physically see from looking inside there once u remove the filter.

Sorry, I know nothing about machines and so the filter you are talking about (to be removed), is it within the pump? An the impeller also?
We removed the hoses from the pump and they are clean. Now do we have to look “inside” the pump?

NB.
The plastic ball is normally called an ‘eco’ ball. It can be found on most modern washing machines.
It is there to prevent the detergent being flushed directly into the sump hose where it tended to lodge and not get used efficiently or economically. 😉
Most machines fill with a small amount of water through the rinse valve first. This lifts up the ball or float to block off the sump hose. Then the fill switches over to the main wash valve to flush the detergent into the drum. 🙂
The filter is down at the bottom right at the front, behind the prise off kickstrip.

We tried to start the machine (to spin) after removing the filter or valve I don’t know, the thing that you remove from the front-bottom-right. We can see the impeller – something like a fan 😳 inside. (i am terrible with technical terms)
First the drum starts turning and then after a minute or so, the impeller/fan starts and the lights start flashing, the drum stops turning. But we can see that this impeller/fan keeps turning.

Then i stand corrected! lol.. and have learned something here myself that ive never questioned ( the ball ) 😳 😉

Actually thinking logically about this now u got me thinking.. if it was to stop alien objects getting to the sump that would be stupid..as then obviously a pocket fucll of bits n bobs over time will make the inner drum fill up with coins etc.. acting like a wishing well..lol

well, I wish the washing machine actually worked like a wishing well… 😉
So, any idea about what to fix in our case? It is not blocked. Pump impeller seems to be turning still, but the machine stops once I start it with all the flashing and such.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
P.S. I don’t think so but; would it matter if we turn the machine on without anything inside? Or turn on spinning without any water in the tank? I suppose that wouldn’t make difference.

without any clothes in.. can u fill it up on a rinse cycle… then stop it once full… and then try draining it..then report back.

hmm… I did what you said but weirdly, once it started getting water in, in like 30 seconds at most, it stopped with the same flashing and pump started sending water out… Then it’s all same again. Pump keep trying to pump out, but no more water left in the tank.
So basically it takes in a little bit of water, then pumps it out while flashing starts…

I think its time it started getting stripped down and components tested… starting with your element.

So… we tried every program and the result is the same. Whenever we start the machine, in like 10 seconds it starts flashing and pump keeps trying to get water out.
With regular washing program, it took water in. After 10 seconds at most pump just sent all water out and there goes flashes!
With spin… same.
With rinse… same.
I tried only using the drain program and see what happens… Same.
So in 5-10 seconds, machine starts flashing 1-3-4-lock lights and pump tries sending out water. I see the drain hose out from the machine moving as the pump tries to send the water not existing in the tank…
Anything we can do? Or do we have to call for someone for this (hope not).

Really the only way to go now is to strip the machine & check components, as LJ said the Heater element would be the logical place to start, do you own a Multimeter ? & know how to use it ?
If not, then afraid it’s time to call an Engineer.PLEASE REMEMBER IF YOU DO DECIDE TO OPEN THE MACHINE: POWER OFF & PLUG OUT FIRST.

Sadly your machine has some of the most unreliable electronics on the market.
Is it connected under the sink directly to the sink waste pipe? If so you need to remove it to check for obstructions there.
The faults you are describing point ot a module fault though.
The control module, pressure switch, heater and very flimsy wiring connections all give problems on Indesit machines.
