I’m looking for some advice please, my Fridgemaster MTBL140 integrated larder fridge has stopped cooling. The compressor is running constantly but not cooling. I’ve come to the conclusion the gas has leaked, does this sound feasible or could it be something else? Is it worth fixing?
If the temperature of the motor (compressor) is hot to the hand (be careful) then there is every chance that you have lost, as you surmise, the refrigerant or have a blockage in the refrigeration circuit or at worst have a duff compressor.
Switch off unttil you decide what to do otherwise if the compressor at the moment is just short of gas you could get away with a repair and regas,if it’s kept running without refrigerant the windings despite internal protection will fry, then you would need system repair and replacement compressor, possibly beyond eco repair.

To all of you who replied, many thanks. Taking your advice into consideration I thought it would be false economy to repair and so I purchased a new Bosch unit, I noticed it’s got a Danfoss compressor, so hopefully it will last a bit longer than the 2 years I got with the Fridgemaster. Thanks again.
