    Hi, I have a Zanussi Jet System 1200, model no FJ 1295, ser no 32901594. Problem is that the door lnterlock will not release after the wash cycle, and sometimes after the spin cycle.
    The door can be opened a couple of minutes after switching the power button off. The machine has worked fine with no problems for 16 years.
    Any ideas?

    Is the machine draining correctly, have you cleaned out the pump filter recently?

    If it is draining OK then a new doorlock would be the first thing to try although it could also be caused by gunged up pressure hose to doorlock.

    Thanks for the reply Jim, found the search now, was looking for a big button 😳
    I’ll have a look at the door lock next week, is it awkward to replace?

    As long as you remove the mains plug first its not to difficult, can be done from the front by peeling back the door seal.

    It may well end up being the timer. On that particular range they had a habit of not releasing the mains supply to the door lock at end of programme.

    This version is hydraulically locked, so If the filter and drainage etc is o.k. and if you can open the door once the power has been off 2 to 3 minutes, timer it is then. It may be the door lock, but if so, would never release.
