Not to be confused with my earlier post (4 years earlier!)
The thermal fuse blew again. No biggie. Its well documented now.
However when I rebuilt it the motor was dragging, so I took it apart. I now realize that I could have simply adjusted the collet holding the fan to the motor.
A couple of weeks later it stopped completely. I cant figure out why. It runs freely without power. under power, it locks up. I can reverse the connections to make it run backwards but that’s no use! What am I doing wrong?
Stupid certainly, but the fan WAS rotating the wrong way and slowly. I got a clue when I wired it correctly and looked though the small hole onto the fan. It was actually rocking to-and-fro! Semi siezed.
Dissasembled motor again.
Cleaned bearings with meths and a cotton bud.
lubricated with light oil. Worked it in.
Reassembled. Checked free running.
