ParticipantHi, this job is right on the outskirts of my area so i’m after some advice so i can decide whether to take it or not. the machine is stopping early on in its cycle and the water is cold, i’ve asked them to try another program to see if the result is the same but they haven’t got back to me yet. It sounds like the heating element or stat to me, i suppose it could be down to a module fault but how likely is that? thanks

Most likely a heater box which includes the stat anyway…i don’t recall having had a module fault on these later ones at all. Probably worth getting one in anyway even if you don’t fit it as you will use it on another job sometime 😉
There are basically two types, one with a diverter valve and one without.May 6, 2009 at 6:56 pm #285861dpr1974

Fitted the new heater box to this today and the problem is still there which is no heating. I tested the old heater before removing it and it tested ok but was unable to test the other parts due to space restriction, so went ahead and fitted the new unit.
what i noticed though was that after the d/w had filled up and started to wash, it would stop circulating the water every couple of minutes for a few seconds and then continued to wash, repeating this pattern and stopping at about one minute to go, any ideas as this is a new one to me?

I don’t think i’ve seen that fault either and my instinct says pcb too, given that all the water level control side is ok?
Greg may be one to help here?

Worth taking a shufty at the module to look for burnt relay joint. Is the “interrupted circulation” not just the changeover from lower to upper spray arm?

I’ve bought the machine back (my first uplift in 6 years) so i can check the pcb and try all the other programs to see if this fault is consistent or just random. as for the spray arm change over, that did occur to me however it sounded like the top spray arm was always in use. Thanks for your replys

The water diverter valve (water point) in the heater box switches every 55 seconds between top spray and bottom, with a 5 second changeover.
Stopping with one minute to go however is either the transfer pipe is bunged up or it isn’t heating. The latter in this case may be the module at fault (i.e burnt heater relay?) 😉

Module is always the first thing to check on these. So much simpler than the heater box and is often just a dry joint. Steve

Thanks for the help. I remember reading that some dishwashers rotate between the two spray arms allowing full pressure to be used instead of having it divided between the two arms only i forgot 😳 And regarding the module i’ll be examining that very closely tomorrow.
