Participant😀 Hi,
can anyone tell me, when removing the top front panel of a Hotpoint WM62 Washing Machine after removing the soap drawer and screws behind it, removing the cycle switch knob and then removing the panel. Will the other switch buttons come away with the panel or will they stay in place. If they do come away with the panel, how long are the wires behind them.
Thanks for any answers,
Miss Lindy.May 9, 2009 at 2:36 pm #286219iadom

Hi Lindy, the wires to the push buttons are long enough to hang the console down gently to allow access to the control timer screws etc.
If I am removing the front cabinet panel then I refit the console with just one screw around the soap drawer to keep it out of the way and stop the wires from being pulled off. That said the wires do actually have written indication of their switch position on them.
Jim.

Thanks very much for your replies gents, much appreciated. Does the same apply to the door lock electrics i.e. is there enough wire to remove the front panel? (I am going to re-new the door seal myself). I would not touch anything unless the machine is unplugged, that’s for sure.

just undo the screws on the latch plate ( were your latch goes into the machine ) the door lock should hang on its own, as your changing the seal just refit before u put the seal on the outer lip.
