My dishwasher has finally given up the fight, and while I feel fortunate to have had a pile of junk (Indesit) outlast its extended warranty without seeing an engineer, I don’t fancy taking that chance again. Unfortunately my budget is limited to the £400 range (and even that’s a bit of a stretch at the moment) which had me thinking of entry-level Bosch.

I came here looking for guidance, and although I was a little disappointed that the recommended dishwashers guide looks to be out of date it did point me at the Co-op, who I would never have thought of. I was pleasantly surprised to see their current offers include a couple of Miele machines around my budget, but I’m struggling to work out how the different models relate to each other.

The have the G1022, G1022SC and G1152SC all at £419 delivered, supposedly reduced from £515, £545 and £615 respectively. I can’t even find the G1152SC on Miele’s site – is this an obsolete model, and if so does that matter at all? I take “reduced from” prices with a pinch of salt, but would it be fair to assume that the one they were selling for the higher price is probably a better model?

The G1152SC also seems to be covered by a Miele 5-year parts and labour offer at the moment. Can anyone tell me if that’s likely to be as good a deal as it sounds, or if its exclusions are likely to mean it’s just one of those things to reel in uninformed customers (like me!)

They also have various Bosch SMS50E/SMS63E models and a Smeg DF410SF7 in the £350-£400 range. Would I be right to go for any of the Mieles in preference to these?

Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for any advice!

Miele’s are decent kit,the higher price stuff is possibly more difficult to shift under the present circumstances hence the reductions.
If the machine has enough of what you require go for it,don’t get too hung up in comparisons.
If it’s last years model the way standards in manufacture and longevity are falling (though miele may be the exception)it will be no problem at all.
Whatever you choose set the softener corrrectly to your area and don’t let salt run out,all in one tablets are best left on the supermarket shelf, old ways are best 😉
