ParticipantPlease can somebody help.
I have a hotpoint dishwasher lft114 The problem started when I noticed that after a wash the eco light (4th light from the left) was flashing and the dishes were not fully clean. Closed door again and noticed machine started when I opened the door two lights were flashing the normal wash (2nd light) and the eco light also the pump was running trying to suck out water, but base empty.
Please help machine only 15 months old.May 13, 2009 at 10:33 pm #286634iadom

Sadly , what you have is a 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Indesit dishwasher. :rolls:
Light 4 and 2+4 both relate to heater problems.
The heaters and control modules on Indesit machines are very weak and prone to failure, along with almost everything else in the machine.
This machine has a new type of heater that is enclosed in the main circulation pump housing, the PCB is in the door.
An electrical test of the heating element would be the first place to start.
Be sure to remove the plug if you intend to investigate further.
Jim.

Hi,
I am having a similar problem with the same machine.
Did a wash but didn’t stop. It sounded like it was trying to pump water away but wouldn’t stop. Switched it off at wall and came back the next day to try it, it goes through the usual process of beeping once then what sounds like pumping water out again but after about five minutes it just starts beeping with nothing else happening.
Can anyone help???October 22, 2009 at 11:02 pm #286636iadom

When most faults occur the machine will go into drain mode. Are you getting any of the lights on the front flashing ?

2+4 is a heater time out fault, could be heating element or the control PCB, both equally prone to fail causing this error code.
Mains plug out and meggar or multimeter on the heater would be the first step.

Hi, Me again.
After looking over the dishwasher again I have now noticed the lights don’t actually come on.
I was misinformed about lights 2 and 4 coming on.
The light for whichever wash it is on stays constant and if I open and close close the door after it beeping continuously then it will start a cycle but just keep acting as if it is draining.
Any ideas?October 28, 2009 at 8:55 pm #286641iadom

Its worth tilting it ot one side to see if any water runs out from the base.
As with everything Indesit though, if its not obvious then its usually the inferior electronics that have corpsed. :rolls:

I have had it on it side and water did come out of the bottom.
Put a multi meter on the pump etc on the bottom but can’t find anything that doesn’t work.
Thought that there was no water getting in but checked that small inlet with the meter and it works.
I am really stumped on why it won’t work, other than opening everything up.October 28, 2009 at 10:12 pm #286643iadom

If water poured out when you tilted it then that is why the pump is running continuously.
The base is flooded so it has either oversoaped or the machine has an internal leak.

Had a repair guy out yesteray to look at it and he is telling me that it is the main pump. Said a seal is gone in it as there seems to be water coming out of it when switched on. Also said they cost about £100 + for the part alone.
What that be right about the cost?November 3, 2009 at 4:43 pm #286646iadom

Its still under five years old, covered by manufacturers five year parts warranty. They will only charge you £99.85 labour, all parts will be free.
Motor is around £65 + vat.
