ParticipantISE 2 SS1242CA2
Just come back from replacing rear tub, bearings and cross piece on 8 month machine, bought on 13-09-08.
Customer claims he is not using it excessively and is understandably a bit concerned.
Has anyone else had this problem with this this machine after a similar lengh of time? The bearings and cross piece seem very small 6205 and 6206 bearings, even the outer bearing had gone, a bit worrying as I dont want to have to do these too often.
Took some photos on my camera phone:

KeymasterThe only other set I know of that’s gone, in six months actually, was in a pub and they were hammering it.
So far as I know there’s no more.

ParticipantHi Ken,
Funnily enough this customer does run a pub, he says that this machine is just for domestic stuff but now I have my suspicions if I am only the second person to do a bearing job on one of these.

ParticipantAlso I have not invoiced for this job yet but what is the labour rate for tub removal / bearing jobs?
May 19, 2009 at 6:09 pm #286875kwatt
KeymasterSame rates, there’s only two rates for any of the machines agreed with AXA, one under twelve months and one for over twelve months.

Swings & roundabouts, 😉
£50/£60 for a complete rear drum half on a CI555WH, ( done six or seven already ) same rate for a 5 minute doorlock change. 8)

ParticipantGot two more ISE 2 SS1242CA2 bearing jobs to do in the next week, both machines just over ten months old and interestingly both owned by elderly couples who have given them gentle use.
I can see myself doing two bearing changes on some of these machines within the 2 year guarantee year period.
Is it just me who has installed a bad batch or are these failing in large numbers?

Touch wood, only had a single bearing repair on any of the 200+ machines I have out there. That was a CI555WH.
All the other CI555WH drum rear halves had motor mounting bracket failures.
Now that I have opened my mouth I expect I will get one soon. 😥
