Went to this w/m today and here the fault, no motor movements at all also the pump comes on for a instant at the beginning of every program. the motor brushes are fine, the motor works when tested independently of the machine, so i would point my finger at the module, anybody agree?
I’ve never known a washing machine pump out when it starts a program, is this a new thing on modern machines? also i should point out that the pump is only on for a faction of a second.
When you say that it could be a faulty valve could that be either valve (not sure if it’s one or two valves on this machine) i ask because it takes water in ok at the start of a 40 degree wash.

edit: boy do i feel a prat, i’ve never noticed that a modern w/m pumps out at the beginning but i’ve just check with one i have in the workshop.

And the reason they do that is to clear any water that may have been introduced into the drum by the user whilst loading the machine. A paramount requirement of modern machine , like Zanussi’s that have analogue pressure switches, sump float valves and in more recent examples, fill valve flow meters. It is a way of insuring the required parameters are reset prior to programme start…… 😉 …All clever electronic stuff. 8)
