ParticipantHello
My machine won’t fill. I removed metal coins, etc from the filter and checked that the pump is freely turning. It seems that no water is entering the machine.
It is only 18 months old.
The model number is ZWF12070W
Thanks for your help.

few thoughts:
Did you tip it over?
can you hear a soft humming when it should be filling?
Did you remember to turn the water back on ?
Is the little plastic handle on the mains inlet cracked and not turning shaft ?
could it have kinked the supply hose when it was pushed backl?

Wow Quick reply! Thanks
I did tip it over, but didn’t disconnect water supply. I will go investigate that just now to ensure water available and all connections seem okay – I can see nothing obviously wrong.
One strange thing to report though: the user manual says that the “Red/start/pause pilot light flashes” – this is not the case. The light stays green so it seems that the machine “thinks” water is getting in. But I see no water getting in, and the pump spins freely. There is a hum – I thought this was the pump…..

Water supply definitely fine. It seems that a valve is not allowing the water to enter, but the machine is not reporting this… Stuck for the moment.

Can’t do any more tonight. I can see nothing visually wrong – no reason why the machine won’t let water in. The only humming I can detect is the pump turning. The rest of the machine is immobile and silent. 😕
Has something electrical failed? Can anyone offer a suggestion?

UNPLUGjust depending on when you tipped it over if there was water in there could be a problem with the level switch which controls water in and out.
Around the side of the machine at the top is a round device approx 3″ dia usually front righ hand corner with a tube going to it and also wires.
Just release the tube from the spigot it is pushed on usually with a spring clip, the switch may be held in the “tub full”position hence no water coming in.
Releasing the tube will let any water residue that is stuck up there drain back down.
then try again.

Ah! We celebrated prematurely. The machine completed the cycle well, but then after draining the pump continued to run indefinitely. Clearly the level switch is stuck in the “tub full” position. I tried the same step of releasing the tube but this time without success. I opened the pump filter to release any residual water but this made no difference. I can’t spin the wash as the machine “thinks” it is full of water.
It’s late and I have to stop now but would be grateful for any new suggestions.

Unplug, try leaving the tube off for a few hours,if you can blow down the tube too.If it’s no cure you may require a new level/pressure switch.

Just some feedback.
The machine still would not work. I ordered and tried the new switch – no difference. I spoke with an engineer by phone who thinks it could be the control board. That would explain the burning smell when my wife first noticed the fault… I could be out my depth and if I get the engineers in the bill up front makes me think I may be better getting a new machine I can pay up, and have guaranteed for at least a year… Decision point.
I just wanted to say thanks for this site and the efforts to help which are much appreciated. best wishes with your work.

Spimps has done a good job for you so far, you say you removed coins etc, the etc may have contributed to your problem and also the burning smell.
I suggest it’s time for an engineer, click on find an engineer and take it from there.
