My Fast Grill is only heating up around the edges and not in the centre
I called AEG Service department out, and they have advised that the Fast Grill is now obsolete and no longer available, and therefore could not repair my cooker
I was very surprised at this as the cooker is only a few years old 12/02/2005 and I thought spares would be available for at least 7 years
I always understood that the manufacturer had a legal responsibility in the UK to have spare parts available for a minimum of 5 years from the date the product was discontinued.
Maybe check with the local citizens advice and see what they suggest.
But only if you can go back to the company who sold it to you in the first place and still have the receipt.
Under EU law they HAVE to repair or replace the item for a period of six years from the date of purchase. Tell them this. If they refuse tell them that they are breaking European law and that you intend to take the matter further (and tell the media about it).
I have had the following reply from spares@Whitegoods
Aeg have also confirmed there are no spare parts availble, so I shall have to try to find the receipt
