ParticipantModel CD662SS. I’ve not opened up the hob as it was only mentioned in passing by the customer when I was repairing the washing machine. She says on 3 of the rings there is no control over the heat, it is either full on or full off. The controls are continuously variable (energy regulator/simmerstats?) rather than click switches. Would it just need new energy regulators or are there thermostats involved. CDA does not seem to be a good make so I might just advise her to get a new hob.

Hi
Part number for switches is 050039. Picture of part can be seen on connect or masterpart sites. I am sure it is a regulator as fitted to delonghi homark etc as well as CDA

Thanks Geoff, I will order just one initially and see what comes. I see you are in Benbecula, perhaps you are the most remotely located trade member? Do you get enough work just repairing appliances or have you had to diversify? I did briefly visit the islands on a day trip from Oban.

Being the sassenach I am I had to Google map to see where Benbecula is. Talk about being exposed the the Atlantic elements, I should think it must get a little drafty at times especially if you are wearing the male traditional dress 😆

Hi Both
yep can be a bit windy up here more so as be are only 200 yards from the beach but we do get wonderful sunsets from the living room window.
Sorry to disappoint you Don but this man is welsh through and through which gets me in great debates with the locals when it comes to rugby etc. Its my partner who has got me here as this is where their family originated.
Diversity is the name of the game up here and always looking for new openings. Repair full range of domestic and commercial (except for gas as we only have LPG and not worth going through all the tests again), petrol lawnmower and strimmers, all types of power tools, plumbing, going to start PAT testing, was the island’s butcher until I fell out with shop owner as well as being casual Postman. Dare I say more.
If anyone is coming through they must give me a shout
Geoff

The nearest I will be getting is a holiday on Islay this October. When I was househunting to relocate to Scotland I did briefly consider Lewis but I read about the lords day observance practices and it put me off. I gather Benbecula is not like that though.

No
The islands that I cover ( Bernary to Barra) are a bit more open minded about the Lords day and have no problems in getting a newspaper as long as the plane comes in.
I understand that things have kicked off on Lewis again as Calmac are going to start to run a ferry service there on a Sundays as they have to “comply with some EU regulation”. Watching that one with some interest to see what developesGeoff

Hi
Sorry about this one. I spoke to them today and now find there are two versions of this hob.
Controls up the side – should be 050039
controls along the front – 0010051
What a mess
Sorry
Geoff
