    Have been to look at a 3 year old G1440 with a cracked regeneration tank, all the gold little balls spewed out & water flooded into base. Anyone come across this problem before or any ideas what caused it, can the crystals/resin expand & crack tank ? Customer is adamant the machine failed after the water supply was off for repairs by water board & when water supply reinstated she heard crack & spluttering of water/air which she says caused problem.

    Have seen this probably twice in 40 years but not on miele,usually a failure in the sieve part of the resin container which prevents resin escaping.
