Hi, I have an Indesit WE16S UK Washing machine that is banging on a fast spin. It is only on a fast spin and only when there are clothes in it, it is not being overloaded as i tried it with only a half load.

The sound is a really loud metal banging.

I looked on a few forums and suspected the bearings so replaced them and it is still the same. I have checked the springs and shocks and they are all fine.

I have took the lid off and watched it whilst it is spinning and the outer drum is not loose or hitting the sides. It appears that the inner drum is hitting the outer drum or heater.

I have googled it and some have mentioned that the motor being the cause? ❓

I am at a loss now 😕 , I don’t really want to take it apart again without knowing the problem.

Any info/help would be greatly appreciated.

ave you tried pushing down on the front lip of the drum at the bottom to see if it will deflect far enough to touch the outer drum, try it and turn the drum round and try it at different parts you may find it deflecting more at one part of the drum which would imply a broken drum spider.
