not really done bearings on these before as have not had any call to normally write them off. going to start doing them now as price of parts have come down. does anyone know if i can fit 35mm bearings in a rear half which has had 30mm bearings in, or do i have to change the back half for new one with 35mm bearings in

why would you want to fit different bearings 😕 . if you did you would probably need a different drum support.

I don’t think you can buy the half tub that takes the smaller bearings, so some people do convert later machines to take the bigger bearings. I would say it’s not worth trying to do that though. As mentioned, you would have to change the spider and that in itself is a difficult job as the screws are always rusted in solid. Changing the bearings is not too bad a job on the 30mm shaft machines as the front bearing outer race comes out much easier than it does with the 35mm type. It may therefore be an idea to buy half tubs for the big bearing models and bearing kits for the small bearing machines.
