    I looked at the above today which will only spin with an empty drum.
    Checked carbons, wiring to motor, security of tacho, wiring to and from control board all looks ok
    Suspect the out of balance sensor which I believe is part of the control board, can the sensor be replaced or does it mean a new board ?

    These machines have a very sensitive out of balance, probably the obvious but have you tried spinning the machine with varied loads, very full load etc.
    Else I would go for PCB.

    it is nearly always the pcb on these machines i would also remove the eco ball as well, they have been playing up on these machines as well
