Hi all, last post was about 3 years ago and was also top oven related! Oven (Neff U1661) is about 10 years old now and the top oven has started acting oddly with regard to temperature. Functionally it is fine when it works properly.

It does odd things like if you turn it off and turn it on again before it has cooled back to ambient then it will not get up to full temperature, “sticking” at somewhere in the ~120 t0 160 degc range and refusing to get any hotter. Other times, the oven will be working normally but the temperature drops randomly and won’t come back up again until it has been turned off and has cooled back to ambient.

I have noticed that the control knobs may just be getting hotter than they used to and I suspect that the cylindrical cooling fan that I remember seeing the last time I was in the back of the oven 3 years ago may be running below full speed or not at all.

What do the experts think? Thank you.

    Regards.

    Steve.

It does sound as if the cooling fan isn’t operating properly and the oven is cutting out on the overheat/s.

K.Thank you. There’s no airflow from the vents above the door aperture. I guess the fan is either choked or worn out. I’ll investigate next Saturday morning, it’ll be the first chance I get. Thanks again.

I’ll report back if I fix it OK.

    Regards.

    Steve.
